"View, Read, Do" Triangle
PBS hosts free parenting classes in our area and I love how they teach
the “View, Read, Do” triangle. So
when you VIEW a kids’ TV show, you can also READ about that episode’s topic and
then DO something to practice it.
For example, last week Brayden watched an episode on “Super Y” show
about getting rid of germs. So, we
looked at our book about where water comes from and then later practiced washing dishes and
washing our hands. Or one time we
watched a cartoon about making new friends, so we could read a book about
friends and then practice being a good friend at the park or while visiting
cousins. The more senses we involve, the more our kids are learning!
